Well, I've done it. I'm finally a homeowner; and I did it, as Frank would say, My Way. You know, the harder, weirder but more colorful way.
I saved my money. I got rid of all of my possessions (well A LOT of them). I left my job. I left my home. And now I have a new one—a drop-dead-gorgeous '74 GMC Eleganza SE
As soon as she's ready, and for the foreseeable future, my address will be Anywhere I Want, U.S.A. (or Canada)
I know I'm supposed to say that giving up a good and stable life is a decision I didn't make lightly. But, really, I did. I should tell you that I did hours of research and weighed out all the pros and cons, but that would be a fat load of bull. I'm an indecisive waffler by nature, in fact, decisions paralyze me and I'm more likely to make NO decision at all. But, this was EASY. On June 9, 2014 the thought came in, I instantly agreed to it and the rest is history. I haven't questioned it or looked back for a second.
There is plenty to share about how I got from A to B, but I'll save that for another grammatical-error-filled post. For now, I just wanted to share the essentials. I bought an RV (a totally magical story), I'll be traveling and working full-time (God, help me) and I couldn't be happier—unless, maybe there was a baby sloth sitting next to me right now. OOooooo, or if I had one of those grooming machines from the Jetsons! Okay...I could totally be happier, but I'm pretty damn close.
